We welcomed the UNFPA representative for Kazakhstan - Mr. Ronny Lindstrom - in our school. Upon the meeting, our students discussed pressing issues related to the accessibility of reproductive health measures and violence prevention in our country. By the end of the discussion, NIS Aktau students were awarded with diplomas, certificates, and valuable prizes with regards to the participation in the poster contest "We are against violence". The collaboration, which was conducted within the "16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence" campaign, was highly appreciated by NIS school and MUNNISA. We genuinely hope for further communication opportunities.

MUNNISA was honored to have Mr. Arthur van Diesen, Kazakhstan’s UNICEF representative, visit our school. He met with our executive board members to learn about MUNNISA and presented to some our students about the most important needs facing children in Kazakhstan today.

Participation in UNHCR Essay Competition 2021
20 students participated in the “Regional Statelessness Essay Competition 2021” sponsored by the UNHCR. Students wrote essays on How the 1961 Stateless Convention was Developed and How It Helps to Resolve the Problem of Statelessness.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, visited our school. She met with MUNNISA executive board members and was informed of our plans and school programs before conducting a leadership talk with 11-grade students.

Students gathered in honor of Earth Day. They planted trees on our school campus and collected rubbish from the Caspian Sea shoreline.
