Globalization is a process of increasing interdependence of the economies, cultures, and populations, brought about by trade in goods and services, technology, people, and information. Today, the world is interconnected in all areas, including education. Globalization has made education and lifelong learning more inclusive. It has modified teaching methods and the acquisition of new skills.

Global education interconnects methods of teaching from worldwide systems, contributing to the international development of effective learning. These educational initiatives prioritize global access to online classrooms ranging from primary school to the collegiate level, while focusing on learning experiences that prepare students for leadership roles. Global education provides an opportunity to work on an international level and exchange experiences with various countries. For example, by participating in an educational internship program, students can acquire the needed knowledge in a multicultural environment, develop soft skills, and learn to cope with unfamiliar situations.

Globalization increases students’ abilities to acquire and use their obtained knowledge, while global education fosters learners’ aptness to think both critically and independently. It advocates student collaboration and teamwork, which is a desired characteristic amongst today’s employers. Moreover, it requires students to develop skills of compromise, debate, leadership, and management skills that will be helpful in their career paths.

Globalization increases the efficiency of education and widens the scope of learners’ cognitive abilities. With global education, students not only have access to better learning, but also gain myriads of advantages.
